This is a one of my favorite students. She's the one I mentioned a few weeks ago that sang the Puccini aria that brought tears to my eyes.

Big decisions
We have decided to limit our move choices to a only a few cities, otherwise I'll drive myself crazy applying for jobs. We will, of course, apply here at home and hope for the best. I'm not really counting on it. We'll both get to choose one town and with the third we'll compromise.
My random choice? Seattle. It's a little 90's, but I'm into it. It's a long shot. Some of our other ideas seem more plausible, closer to home or chock full of built-in friends.
What a weird feeling to be so unsure.

I went to Dunkin Donuts yesterday and ordered a bagel with cream cheese. The cream cheese must have been piled 2 inches thick! Was this girl's mission to single-handedly clog the arteries of America? Sadly, this was the most humorous and interesting part of my day--my week too.

I can't tell you how defeating it is to work very hard all semester to realize that you're still behind in meeting deadlines. Because of this, I had to cancel my trip to see Matthew Sweet, leaving my friend stranded in Atlanta. It all worked out quite well for her, though. She met Sweet and took pictures with him. Am I cursed? I haven't truly done anything non-criminology/school related in months. It's taking its toll on me.
